Gramley and the OCHS Day of Silence

Submitted by Anon. Contributor #5

Much of the negative reaction to students observing the National Day of Silence at Oil City High School this year was fomented by a small minority of individuals, led by Diane Gramley, and is not representative of the attitudes of the majority of Oil City's residents nor of the attitudes of the students, teachers or administrators of the school district.

Sadly, Diane Gramley is all about divisiveness and creating ill-will where little, if any, exists.

On the positive side, I believe that people in Venango County are increasingly recognizing that neither Gramley nor the "research" and "statistics" that she throws about are to be trusted.

Unfortunately, Gramley has a notoriously long-standing habit of making things up to suit her own biases and purposes as the Erie County Council discovered during public hearings on the County's non-discrimination ordinance several years ago. The ordinance, by the way, passed overwhelmingly, and Gramley failed, miserably, to stop it.

So, no reason to be intimidated or allow others to be influenced by her rants and demagoguery.
