Which side would politicians and municipalities in Venango County be on?
Bigotry is displayed in many ways. On the receiving end, there are real people with real feelings and a life story. This video is a very poinant one. The same life crisis has played out hundreds of thousands of times around the world and right here in Venango County. And there was noone standing up for most of the couples suffering the tragedy. When asked to take a stand, some ask, "where's the crisis here?" The crisis is up the street where two people have an argument and the one says "you and your homo family can...." It's at the corner bar where a gay man is nearly assaulted because he accidently brushes up against someone. It's in the school where a kid wears a T-shirt saying "I hate fags". It's in a local business targeted as having a "gay agenda". It's in the home up the street where one is ill and can no longer work and the other must use all their resources to pay for health care - health care that married spouses are able to access through their company. And, yes, it's in a home where one love lies dying and concerned about how the other will survive without her. All these thing happened and are happening in Venango County. The crisis is HERE.
